The « Chutes de Koudou » are located on the Benin – Burkina Faso border on the Mekrou River, a tributary of the Niger. The falls are found in the "Parc du W". The park plus the neighbouring parks of Niger and Burkina make up the largest natural reserve of West Africa. For the last few years, an active policy of protection of the flora and fauna has contributed to their rapid rebirth. With a little luck, you will be able to see lions, elephants, hippos, etc. as well as many species of birds. The "Chutes de Koudou" Lodge is located 120km by dirt track to the north west of Kandi via Banikoara. Shortly, it will be possible to drive over the Mekrou River all year round thanks to a bridge that is being built at the "Point Triple" where Benin, Burkina and Niger meet. It will be then possible to reach Niamey and the Tapoa. Today it can be done only during the dry season by fording the river. Lodge des Chute de KoudouThe "Chutes de Koudou" Lodge is opened all year. It is better to use a four wheel drive vehicle to get there but during the dry season all types of cars can make it. The trip from "Parc de la Pendjari" to "Parc du W" is possible only with a four by four car.
